About the Event

Struggling to transition from classical playing to contemporary worship? This course is designed for classically-trained pianists looking to adapt their skills for contemporary worship.

Dates: 12, 19 & 26 Aug (Wednesdays)

Time: 7.30 pm to 9:00 pm

Venue: MSM (Level 3)

Course Fees:

Participants: $245 incl. GST
Observers: $100 incl. GST

Class Size:

Min. to start and max. size of 6 participants
8 observer spaces available (observers can ask questions but no hands-on opportunities)

Prerequisites: Participants must…

Have some classical piano training and have a basic understanding of chords
Have been playing contemporary Christian music for at least 6 months
Are to prepare two contemporary Christian songs (post-2000) to play in class

About the Instructor

Joyce Poh

Joyce Poh holds a Masters in Music from the University of Sheffield and has been serving in the music ministry for almost 40 years. She has been involved in contemporary worship for more than 30 years in various capacities (pianist, worship band music director) and is a member of Pentecost Methodist Church.
